GROUP & PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS, RECREATIONAL SWIM, AND POOL RENTALS IN FAYETTEVILLE, NC

YMCA of the Sandhills offers a year-round indoor pool at the Fayetteville Branch on 2717 Fort Bragg Rd. for recreational, instructional, and competitive use. Seasonally, our outdoor aquatic center, Rae Of Hope, at 2400 Hope Mills Road, opens for community swim lessons, summer day camp, and swim team practice. Join the Y and gain access to swim lessons, water fitness, lap swim, aqua zumba, lifeguard training, recreational swim, stroke refinement classes, and much more!


Swim Lessons: AGES 6 MONTHS TO ADULT

Group Lessons

Group lesson classes meet either two days week, Monday/Wednesday OR Tuesday/Thursday or once a week on Saturdays for 8 total classes. Registration for opens on the 15th of the month prior for all montly group lessons.

Youth Conditioning - This class is designed for stroke refinement and is an hour long. Building technique, conditioning, and enhancing endurance. Participant must be able to swim multiple laps, be able to do flip turns, dives, and have the fundamentals of Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly.

Adult- Our adult swim classes are for all levels of ability from the first-time swimmers to the advanced swimmers who need refinement on their strokes and skills. Adults are taught the essential swim skills, strokes, and techniques needed to become a comfortable and competent swimmer. This class is 45 minutes long.

Family Value Members $34 for 8 lessons

Members $42 for 8 lessons

Non-members $72 for 8 lessons

Private Swim Lessons

These lessons are designed to give participants individualized attention with one instructor to achieve their swim goals.

Members $99 for four 30-minute lessons

Non-Members $119 for four 30-minute lessons

Family Private Lesssons:

These lessons are designed to give famiy bonding, focused on growth and a chance to achieve their swim goals at different skill levels. Must include at least one parent or guardian and children must live in the same household.

Three or four participants $169 for six, 30 minute lessons

Five or more participants $220 for six, 30 minute lessons

To register for any of our private lessons, please fill out the request form below and bring it into the Fayetteville branch. Private lessons are scheduled first come first served based on instructor availability.


Water Fitness Classes:

Unlimited Access for Y Members!

WATER AEROBICS: The Y offers three levels of water aerobics, high impact, intermediate, and low impact classes.
HIGH IMPACT: For someone who is in good physical shape and is looking for a fast paced and challenging workout that will raise their heart rate and work both upper and lower body.
INTERMEDIATE IMPACT: Provides a strong workout routine, at a somewhat slower pace and is geared more towards someone who is just be-ginning a quest for physical fitness.
LOW IMPACT: Designed to increase range of motion, circulation, and flexibility at a slower pace.

AQUA TAI CHI: Uses the benefits of the aquatics by practicing gentle movement suitable for people of all ages, mobility, and fitness levels. Gain strength, stam-ina, and balance as you control your mind, body, and breath through a series of poses and stretches.
AQUA YOGA: Water based yoga classes designed to enhance mobility, stretch muscles, increase flexibility and connect body to mind.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Class (5-day course)

The Lifeguard Class provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illness until EMS personnel take over.

COURSE INFORMATION

American Red Cross LIFEGUARD Certification

LIFEGUARD SESSIONS FOR JULY 2019

$50 Non-Refundable Pre-Test & Skill Assessment Fee Due at Registration for ALL Applicants.

$145 Due on the 1st day of class when accepted into the course.

Requirements: Must be 15 years old on or before the last day of class and pass a pre-course Skills Assessment that includes: retrieving a submerged brick at 7-9ft of water, and a 300-yd. freestyle/breaststroke swim. Attendance at all class meeting times is required, as well as completing all assignments, and a passing score of the American Red Cross CPR-PR/AED, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens tests. In order to receive certification, the course fee must be paid IN FULL by the due date.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Recertification / Refresher Class: Certificate must still be active

$75 + $50 Non-Refundable Registration & Skill Assessment Fee

Requirements: For experienced lifeguards who are needing to re-certify or refresh their skills, and whose certificate has NOT YET EXPIRED.

American Red Cross Community or Professional CPR/AED/First Aid:

$85 for the certification course

The YMCA offers certified CPR classes, for the professional and health care providers. In order to receive your certification you must attend all classes, complete all assignments, and be able to pass the final exam with a minimum of 80% accuracy. CPR classes are held on the Saturday from 8:00am-5:00pm, which coincide with the American Red Cross Lifeguard certification class.

American Heart Association CPR/AED BLS:

$40 for the certification course

The YMCA provides certification in BLS for the Healthcare Provider and Heartsaver. You must attend all class time and pass both the skills test and receive a 84% or higher on the written exam.Contact the Aquatics department for more information at 910-426-9622 ext. 103

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification Class:

$45 Non-Refundable Pre-Test & Skill Assessment Fee Due at Registration for ALL Applicants.

YMCA Members, $155 Course Cost Due on the 1st day of class when accepted into the course.

Non-Members, $205 Course Cost Due on the 1st day of class when accepted into the course.

Requirements: Must turn 16 on or before the last day of class, and be able to pass a prerequisite swimming strokes test. This consists of front stroke, back stroke elementary back stroke, breast stroke, dolphin kick, butterfly, and diving. ln order to receive the WSI certification participants must attend all classes, complete all assignments, pass the WSI and Fundamentals of Instructor Training [FIT] curriculum. The WSI class schedule coincides with the learn to swim program starting at the begining of the month.

KIDS NIGHT OUT

Parents enjoy a night out while we watch the kids! A fun night for the kids that includes music, games, swimming, making new friends, pizza and more! Every THIRD SATURDAY at the Fayetteville Branch!


PREP Preschool Care at the HOPE MILLS Y BRANCH

8:30am- 12:00pm Monday ~ Friday, 2 1/2 - 5 years of age who are potty-trained. MEMBER cost: $39/week, Non-Member cost: $49/week. Registration Fee $35 per Non-Member. Program features ABeka, Montessori, sports-play, healthy snack, social skills, Bible Verses, monthly field trips and more.
