YMCA of the Sandhills

Youth Sports

Children reach their full potential when they are healthy in spirit, mind and body. That's why the Y has committed resources to a wide range of youth development programs such as team sports! The Y connects kids to caring adult role models whose example and leadership teach critical character values and life skills randing from how to be a good student, a good sport and a good citizen. In the youth sports department, we will introduce the concept of each seasonal sport, develop the skill level of every player, promote teamwork and encourage sportsmanship. We see every season as an opportunity to invest in every child's potential and support families in nurturing their child's healthy lifestyle. The Y is a leader in youth development programs for the Sandhills community. Come join us to get in the game!

Youth soccer and flag football is an exciting sport combining team play and individual skills. YMCA youth sports promises no try outs, no getting cut and no bench warmers! Every child plays at least half of every game while making friends and learning new techniques.

YMCA utilizes volunteer coaches to focus on participation and fun! While basic skills of the game are developed through practices and games, every child learns sportsmanship and values necessary to be successful in life. Every game begins with a Youth Sports Pledge and ends with a handshake.

The YMCA Youth Sports Program helps kids become not only become better players, but better people as well. It's a progressive program, with multiple age-specific levels. Every child gets to play and the games are safe, exciting and fun. We encourage fair play, positive competition, and family involvement.
