Why Donate to YMCA of the Sandhills during our Giving Tuesday Campaign?

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to make a difference in your community by supporting the YMCA of the Sandhills. Your donation helps us continue our mission to provide vital programs and services that benefit youth, families and seniors across the region. By contributing to YMCA of the Sandhills through this campaign, you ensure that we can expand our reach, offering more resources to those who need them most.

What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving, celebrated annually after Thanksgiving. Our Y partners with Cumberland Community Foundation (CCF) for our GIVING TUESDAY CAMPAIGN to amplify donations made to the Y between November 24 (9 am) through December 2 (11:59 pm) .

Why Donate to the YMCA of the Sandhills This Giving Tuesday?

When you donate to the Y during our GIVING TUESDAY CAMPAIGN, you’re directly supporting programs that improve the well-being of our community. Your charitable contribution makes a difference for your neighbors in Fayetteville and Cameron.

Here’s how your donation helps:

- $35 Allows a senior to emjoy the social and physical benefits of being at the Y for a month
- $80 Provides drowning prevention lessons and a lifetime skill for a child, adult or senior
- $100 Enables a teen to build confidence and skills through leadership training
- $250 Gives a child a safe, supportive place to learn, grow and thrive in our afterschool program for a month.
- $1,100 Fosters family connections and wellness through a year of a Y family membership
- $2,200 covers a child's full summer at Y camp--where every day is filled with fun, friendship, learning and growing
- $10,000 Empowers teens with life skills, job and college readiness and mental well-being resources
- $15,000 Enables the Y to maintain excellence in pool programs and equipment benfiting all ages, along with training for lifeguards and swim instructors
- $25,000 Supports the Y's capacity to staff and provide equipment to operate food distribution programs for those in need for a year

How to Donate to the YMCA on Giving Tuesday

Making a donation is easy; choose which way works best for you.
1)   ONLINE: Donate online here from November 24 (9 am) through December 2 (11:59 pm) LINK TO CCF’s page for Sandhills Y (This link will be live November 24 at 9 am.)

2)   CHECK: Write a check payable to Cumberland Community Foundation or CCF with Giving Tuesday-YMCA of the Sandhills in the memo line. This ensures your gift reaches our Y! Mail the check to: Cumberland Community Foundation, PO Box 2345, Fayetteville, NC 28302.
Checks must be received no later than December 2 to be eligible for CCF’s match for the Y.

3)   DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS, IRA DISTRIBUTIONS, STOCKS: Contact Melinda Hadley for information about how you can support the Y through a contribution via one of these ways to ensure the YMCA of the Sandhills receives your financial support.
